Primera Familia

When the artist Julieta Alvarez asked us to document her last sculpture series,
she defined the set of four elements as a Family (Familia).

We took that as the main concept and started an investigation about portraits, no matter the portrayed ones were not humans. The mood was something between a still life and court portrait paintings. It had to show the nature of the family (balance, proportion, weight and scale, as defined by the author) but also let us play with light and color and reflect specific relationships between family members.

It’s all about family.

This photographic series, that takes its name from the sculpture whole, is ultimately talking the language of redundancy: geometry on geometry, form on form, proportion on proportion and color on color.
